Setting Sail December 2009

Silversea is anxiously awaiting delivery of her newest vessel, Silver Spirit. With Italian officers and a full crew complement of 376, the ship will welcome 540 guests per voyage.

Designed to offer a little bit more of everything, you’ll enjoy more restaurant locations, more veranda staterooms, and butler service for all—no matter what category you’ve booked into.

Accommodations

Every stateroom aboard the Silver Spirit will enjoy complimentary butler service.

  • Owner’s Suite—Configured as a one- (1,292 square feet) or two-bedroom (1,668 square feet) unit, the Owner’s Suite offers a living room; separate dining area; teak veranda with floor-to-ceiling glass doors; bedroom(s) with one queen or two twin beds; marble bathroom(s) with double vanity, separate shower, and Jacuzzi; a writing desk; and flat-screen TV, DVD, and CD player. (The two-bedroom configuration is the Owner’s Suite plus an adjoining Vista Suite.)
  • Grand Suite—Configured as a one- (990 square feet) or two-bedroom (1,302 square feet) unit, the Grand Suite is unique because of its two verandas. (The two-bedroom setup offers three verandas.) All other features are similar to the Owner’s Suite. (The two-bedroom combines the Grand Suite with an adjoining Veranda Suite.)
  • Silver Suite—At 742 square feet, the Silver Suit is popular because the living room offers a convertible sofa to accommodate an additional guest. You’ll also find a combined sitting area and dining area; veranda; one queen or two twin beds; marble bathroom with double vanity, bath tub, and separate shower; writing desk; and flat-screen TV with DVD and CD players.
  • Midship Veranda Suite—Due to their prime location, Midship Veranda Suites are very popular. Some even accommodate three passengers. The 376-square-foot suite offers a veranda; sitting area; one queen or two twin beds; a marble bathroom with vanity, bathtub, and separate shower; writing desk; and flat-screen TV with DVD player.
  • Veranda Suite—These staterooms are identical to Midship Veranda Suites in all aspects except their location.
  • Vista Suite—The 312-square-foot Vista Suite features a large picture window; sitting area; one queen bed or two twins; marble bathroom with vanity, bathtub, and separate shower; writing desk; and flat-screen TV with DVD player. Some Vista Suites accommodate three guests.

Dining

This cruise line shines when it comes to presenting gourmet meals at sea. Wine, champagne, spirits, bottled water, and soft drinks are readily available—and complimentary—aboard all Silversea vessels.

Here are your open-seating dining options aboard the Silver Spirit.

  • The Restaurant—This is the main dining room and menus have been designed by Relais & Châteaux. Dine here for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
  • La Terrazza—If you want an ocean view, this is the restaurant to head to. With both indoor and outdoor seating, you’ll enjoy a casual buffet at breakfast and lunch. An a la carte Italian menu is featured in the evenings.
  • Stars Supper Club—This nightclub setting offers one convenient spot for cocktails, dinner, and dancing to live music.
  • Le Champagne—This is one of two Silversea restaurants that levy an extra fee, but many guests feel it’s so worth it! You’ll enjoy six-courses paired with wine. (The menu is also available at a lesser price for teetotalers.)
  • Seishin Restaurant—This Asian establishment also charges an additional fee and features kobe beef, sushi, and seafood specialties.
  • Pool Grill—The place for lunch, dinner, or a snack, offering grilled meats and pizza.

Diversions

While Silver Spirit is far from a megaship, she does offer a nice balance of entertainment options in the evenings:

  • The Show Lounge—featuring everything from Broadway-style shows to classical soloists
  • The Casino—Take a chance with roulette, blackjack, poker, and slot machines.
  • The Panorama Lounge—for live music and dancing.
  • The Observation Lounge—for peace and quite and knockout views.
  • The Humidor—pull up a chair and enjoy a cigar and glass of cognac.

Inaugural Voyage

Silver Spirit will make her first voyage on December 23, 2009, from Barcelona, Spain to Lisbon, Portugal with calls on Malaga and Cadiz, Spain, Gibraltar, U.K.; and Casablanca and Tangier, Morocco.
